Developer and publisher Frontier Developments has announced that its Planet Coaster follow-up - and Zoo Tycoon spiritual successor - Planet Zoo, will be heading to PC on 5th November. In its very first gameplay trailer, we get to see up close and personal at some of the Zoo's host of realistic animals that include bears, lions, elephants and many more.
Depending on the which animals players are housing, they can build individual structures to care for their needs like climbable forts for cats and monkeys. For animals like hippopotami, players will need to cater to their aquatic needs with a more swamp-like atmosphere. All the creatures of the enclosure will react to whatever decisions you make - good or bad, so think carefully as they could end up worse off. Of course, you'll also have guests to keep happy, too which could be an even bigger job.
The titles senior artist Liesa Bauwens says "You're not just seeing all the lovely, pretty animals, you'll be doing research and learning about conservation, too. It's a modern zoo where you'll be able to educate yourself about the animals you're looking after."
The game will be available in two versions: the standard edition, which costs £34.99/€44.99/$44.99 and a Deluxe Edition at £42.99/€54.99/$54.99.
Planet Zoo will release November 5 this year on PC but before then, there's a beta planned for sometime this summer.
