Plants vs. Zombies Takes Over EA Access on Xbox One as First Backwards Compatible Title
Since its release last year, EA Access has steadily been providing its subscribers with a collection of free games, with the service being taken over by plants AND zombies with the addition of the PopCap Games classic, Plants vs. Zombies.
EA has announced that Plants vs. Zombies is now available free as part of the EA Access Vault, allowing subscribers to play the game completely free with an an active membership. Notably, Plants vs. Zombies is also the service’s first backwards compatible title, as the Xbox 360 version being added to the Vault is playable through Xbox One’s backwards compatibility.
The total line-up of games now available through EA Access is now up to 16 games on the Xbox One version of the service: EA’s Origin Access also provides free games to those using the company’s Origin platform on PC, though some of the titles available there are different than what Xbox One subscribers are offered.
