Developer GalaxyTrail has taken to Twitter today to make a few announcements regarding their upcoming retro platformer sequel Freedom Planet 2.First of all, debut gameplay of the game in action was shared, exhibiting Lilac the dragon girl's move set in a stage very reminiscent of the Green Hill Zone from Sonic the Hedgehog. Some footage of the title's city stage was revealed as well, including a look into the various animal/machine type enemies.This won't be the last video we see, as more gameplay is planned on being shared within the next few weeks.Secondly, GalaxyTrail will be making available a demo version of the game, titled Freedom Planet 2: Sample Version, at the end of January as a free download. It'll include all playable characters, giving players a better impression of the final product, although no platforms were announced.Lastly, the developer will be attending Penny Arcade Expo South in San Antonio, Texas, from January 27th to the 29th, showing off the demo to visitors.The original Freedom Planet released on Steam in 2014, then came to Wii U one year later. Its sequel will launch on both platforms in mid-2017. The franchise takes its influences from the Sega Genesis era of Sonic games, including its gameplay and aesthetics.Today's video and announcements can be found below:
