After a long wait, Platinum End is finally close to its official release worldwide. And if you’re wondering when you’ll get to watch Episode 1 of the anime adaptation, here’s everything you need to know.
Platinum End is an upcoming anime series based on a Japanese manga written by Tsugumi Ohba and illustrated by Takeshi Obata. The manga was serialized in Shueisha’s Jump Square from November 2015 to January 2021.
For the unacquainted, this story comes from the mind that gave us the legendary story of Death Note. So, you could understand why there’s so much hype for the anime’s release.

What’s The Plot of Platinum End?
PLatinum End follows the story of Mirai Kakehashi, a boy who spent most of his life getting abused by his uncle. After giving up all hope, Kakehashi attempts suicide; however, a guardian angel appears and saves him. The angel, Nasse, tells Mirai that the current God will retire in 999 days, and currently, there are 13 candidates to sit on his throne, including Mirai. Now, the boy must compete against other contestants, and unfortunately, he does not have the option to run away from the competition.
When Does Platinum End Episode 1 Come Out?
When writing this article, Platinum End is scheduled to premiere with the release of Episode 1 on Thursday, October 7th, 2021, or Friday, October 8th, depending on your region.
Fortunately for the international audience, the upcoming anime series will be available to watch on Crunchyroll and Funimation. For Premium subscribers, episode 1 will be available on October 7th; however, free users will have to wait to watch the premiere episode.
The official website of Platinum End confirmed that the first episode would air on TBS and BS11 channel at 1:30 AM, October 8th, in Japan. However, if it’s a simulcast release, the release timing for Crunchyroll may vary depending on your region. Also, for most international viewers, the release date would be October 7th because of the time difference.
Anyway, if the above timing stays correct, here’s when you can expect Platinum End Episode 1 to arrive in these regions:
