PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds took the world by storm last year when it arrived through Steam Early Access, and now Xbox One owners that might have had their eye on playing the game will have their best chance yet to hop in and join the fight, for free.

Microsoft has detailed that PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is available free-to-play for Xbox One owners for the first time, which will allow players to hop in and experience the battle royale for themselves free of charge for a limited time.

The only requirement in place is that Xbox One owners looking to play the game must have an active Xbox Live Gold account. Otherwise, you can simply head over to the Xbox Games Store and download the game from there for free for the duration of the free weekend, which is running now through April 22nd, 2018.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is available now on PC, Xbox One, iOS, and Android. To pick up the game and join the battle royale any time, you can purchase the game through Amazon for either PC or Xbox One.
