UPDATE: Well, that was quick. PlayStation did say there were limited quantities available, so the fact that these were able to move so quickly shouldn't come as much of a surprise. As of right now there's no way to know if this will be the only batch offered (and something tells me it won't be) but if it is... if you thought $499 was pricey, just wait until the resellers start auctioning.

Following today's PlayStation Experience keynote, PlayStation tweeted out a link for folks who are interested in pre-ordering the $499 PlayStation 4 20th Anniversary Edition console. The bundle includes both the camera and vertical stand but forgoes any packed-in titles (like the recent Grand Theft Auto V & The Last of Us bundle) for the premium price. It may seem like a high price to pay for nostalgia, but if you're a PlayStation fan, this thing looks pretty damn sweet.

As of this post being published Sony's store is listing the item to ship just in time for the holidays on December 21st 2014, but considering the console's "limited" availability and what will likely be high demand, there's no telling if that shipping estimate will stay put. So if you're hoping to have the original PlayStation logo featured prominently in your entertainment center it's time to pre-order.
