PlayStation and Xbox Twitch Channels Compromised, Highlights Renamed With Racist Messages

The official channels of PlayStation, Xbox and ESL have been compromised, leading to offensively named highlights being posted on each channel.

These highlights included racist and homophobic insults, but also alluded to recent announcements at Gamescom, with titles including  “Sorry guys but they rose the money bags,” “sorry bout tomb raider bb.” Other highlights included faked game announcements.

Speaking to Polygon, Twitch stated that the accounts were compromised during Gamescom. Twitch said that someomebody had likely found a computer at Gamescom logged in to the relevant accounts. The company added that it was already cracking down on the renamed highlights.

We’re deleting the offensive VODs as soon as we find them and are alerting individual teams at the venue.
