Next-gen is here, and Sony's new PlayStation App trailer shows off all the reasons why Sony gamers can have a stronger experience with the Sony brand through their app, while on the go or at home.

The trailer below features a host of functions, including instant access to your gaming profile, an activity feed to see what your friends are up to, the ability to compare trophies, a "what's new" feature for new shared content from your friends, the ability to use the keyboard to communicate through messages and comments, second screen capabilities, and the ability to purchase from the PlayStation Store and start downloading to your PS4 immediately, so that your game is ready to play by the time you get home.

Brings new meaning to the idea of "PlayStation mobile," that's for sure.
