Today Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan and Asia announced that its annual award ceremony "PlayStation Awards" will come in 2018 as well.

The awards, held in Japan since the birth of PlayStation in 1994, will see their 24th edition this year.

Games that sold over 500,000 copies in Japan and Asia during the past year will receive a Gold Prize, while games that sold over a million copies will get a Platinum Prize.

The PlayStation Network prize will be awarded to the three best-selling PSN games, while the User's Choice Award will be voted by gamers. Indie and PlayStation VR games will also have their own categories.

As usual, the award ceremony will be broadcasted live on YouTube, and it'll be held at the Grand Prince Hotel New Tanakawa in Tokyo.

Voting for the User's Choice Award is already open, requiring a Japanese PSN Account.

Of course, we'll have a full report of the awards here on DualShockers, and you can read about the 2017 edition.
