Today Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan and Asia hosted its annual PlayStation Awards at the Grand Prince Hotel New Takanawa in Tokyo, recognizing the best selling PlayStation titles in the local market, in addition to the User’s Choice Award and two special prizes selected by the house of PlayStation itself.

PlayStation VR Special Award (titles that most contributed to the sales and excitement about PlayStation VR in Japan and Asia as from October 13th, 2016 to September 30th, 2017. Games awarded last year are excluded)

Users’ Choice Award (top ten titles voted by the users released between October 1st, 2015 and September 30th, 2016, in no particular order).

Last year no Platinum Prizes were awarded, and Persona 5 actually managed to win an Users' Choice Award for two years in a row. The game was released in Asia this year, which means that it managed to win this year's award just with the votes from Asia.
