Sony and PlayStation had a phenomenal year last year. The PS4 cemented its place as the second best-selling home console of all time, the PS5 had a very successful launch, despite a few stock issues and Sony Worldwide Studios released a lot of incredible games.

As part of the PlayStation Blog, Sony has looked back at the most downloaded titles of last year across the PS4, PS5 and PSVR and has kindly collated them for both Europe and the US/Canada.

The PS5 download charts are as follows:

US/Canada

Europe

1.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War

10.

Watch Dogs: Legion

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege

There's little surprise at the top of the chart, with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War taking the number one spot in both regions. Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Assassin's Creed Valhalla took the number two and three spots across both regions, but then the charts start to split. The two regions sporting preferences start to show as NBA 2K21 takes fourth in the US/Canada and FIFA 21 in Europe. Demon's Souls takes fifth in both regions and then a combination of Watch Dogs: Legion, Immortals Fenyx Rising and Sackboy: A Big Adventure fill the majority of the remaining spots.

The PlayStation 4's chart offers a little more variation. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War dominates again in the US/Canada, however, only manages to muster up a paltry fifth spot in Europe. It is usurped by FIFA 20 and FIFA 21, which take second and first spot respectively, GTA V (which is second in the US/Canada) and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

Then the surprises start to creep in. The Last of Us Part II (6th) was downloaded fewer times than Ghost of Tsushima (5th) in the US/Canada and only managed to take eighth spot in Europe, with Ghost of Tsushima missing out on the top 10. Final Fantasy VII Remake just crept in at ninth place in the US/Canada, again, missing out in Europe. Red Dead Redemption 2, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Madden 21 are some of the other key titles that make up the chart.

Sony also shared the PSVR Chart:
