A little less than twenty hours ago Sony Computer Entertainment President and CEO Andrew House was in front of the Yodobashi Camera store in Tokyo together with customers in line to get the console as soon as the floodgates opened.

House was asked by Famitsu how he felt about the Japanese launch of the new console, and his answer was quite enthusiastic:

We have made our customers in Japan wait, but at last this wonderful new hardware has been released. We're working hard to provide a new gaming experience, so look forward to it.

This time I'm here side by side with everyone, so thank you for your time. I feel the love for PS4 once more. Even now we feel the responsibility to respond to that love, and want to release further good games by all means.

Apparently the stock of the console is in good conditions in Japan. After having pre-orders run out of allocation very quickly five times in a row SCEJA President Hiroshi Kawano promised that the company would have done whatever possible to ensure a large supply at launch, and apparently that promise has been kept.
