Gust released today a large batch of 108op screenshots of Atelier Sophie: Alchemist of the Mysterious Book, that will hit the Japanese shelves on September 25th for PS4, PS3 and PS Vita.

The screenshots introduce the alchemy system, that will be striuctured in a puzzle-like way. The player will choose the cauldron, the ingredients, select where to put them in the grid, in order to acquire bonuses, select those bonuses and then pick the final stats.

It’ll also be possible to get an “idea” for a new recipe after finishing one. It’s also possible to find new ideas by collecting items or in battle.

We also get to see two new character, Monica Ellmenreich and Oscar Berma. They’re both Sophie’s best friends.

Monica works at the church and she’s a skilled sword fighter. She’s serious and polite and she loves singing. Oscar is a greengrocer’s son and is very knowledgeable about flower and plants, so much that he’s said to be able to hear their voices.
