God Eater 2 Takes Japan by Storm on Media Create Software Charts

on November 20, 2013 8:12 AM

It’s Wednesday, and as every Wednesday Media Create released its software sales charts, giving us a good glimpse on what happened last week in the Japanese video game market.

Here’s the software chart between November the 4th and November the 10th. As usual new titles are bolded and lifetime sales are in parenthesis.

  1. God Eater 2 – PS Vita – 266,326 (266,326)
  2. Call of Duty: Ghosts – PS3 – 190,631 (190,631)
  3. Winning Elevent 2014 – PS4 – 151,800 (151,800)
  4. God Eater 2 – PSP – 112,024 (112,024)
  5. Pokémon X & Y – 3DS – 82,705 (2,929,806)
  6. Daigasso! Band Brothers P – 3DS – 40,196 (40,196)
  7. Monster Hunter 4 – 3DS – 26,358 (2,938,669)
  8. Medarot Dual – 3DS – 21,454 (21,454)
  9. Grand Theft Auto V – PS3 – 20,144 (579,822)
  10. Battlefield 4 – PS3 – 19,291 (140,990)

This week’s verdict was predictable, with God Eater 2 swooping on the archipelago of the Rising Sun and throwing a gauntlet of challenge right at Monster Hunter with 378,000 units combined between PS Vita and PSP. While it’s basically impossible for it to overtake the rival in total sales (nor it came near to its first week sales), the debut figures are definitely promising.

We’ll have to see if it’ll manage to retain the throne next week, though. It’s quite unlikely, as two ten ton gorillas are about to drop: Super Mario 3D World and Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII.
