Japanese studios and publishers are returning to work after the New Year break, and Sony is no exception. Yesterday they tweeted a picture mentioning that people were back at work starting the year of the monkey (in the Chinese calendar), and it included a funny detail.

The costume used in the picture alongside the traditional New Year decorations is from the old PlayStation and PlayStation 2 franchise Ape Escape, and it appears to be one of those used for the TV commercials of the game back in the early 2000s (you can see one at the bottom of the post, courtesy of YouTube user PipoMadness1992).

We don't know if this is teasing something, or just celebrating the year of the monkey by pulling out an old costume from the closet. We do know that Ape Escape 3 was rated for PS4, so it could be related to that, or to something else... or to nothing at all.
