PlayStation Mobile Promotion with No Publisher License Fee Extended with No Deadline

on September 2, 2013 10:12 AM

Sony Computer Entertainment has been targeting independent and one-man-team developers very aggressively with PlayStation Mobile, by waiving the fee to obtain a publisher license.

The promotion was scheduled to end, but “to help out all the talent out there” (and PlayStation Mobile itself no doubt), the deadline has been removed, and now developers can continue getting their license for free, at least for the moment.

It’s worth mentioning that the license only lasts for one year from acquisition, so if the promotion ends, certified developers may find themselves in need to renew it, but for the moment no end date is in sight, so everything’s peachy.

A PlayStation Mobile license grants the right and development tools to publish games on PlayStation certified devices, including PS Vita.
