PlayStation Network Back Online After Long Outage (UPDATED)

After an outage lasted several hours, the PlayStation Network has now been restored to full functionality by Sony Computer Entertainment, as confirmed by the official status page.

While Sony Computer Entertainment has not disclosed the reasons behind the outage, if you want to put in some late night online gaming now you can.

It certainly has been a while since the last time Sony’s network suffered such a long interruption, but hopefully it’s an isolated case that won’t repeat itself in the near future.

Update: Apparently we can expect an extension to our subscriptions to make up for the lost time, as mentioned by PlayStation’s Twitter account.

Hailing from sunny (not as much as people think) Italy and long standing gamer since the age of Mattel Intellivision and Sinclair ZX Spectrum. Definitely a multi-platform gamer, he still holds the old dear PC nearest to his heart, while not disregarding any console on the market. RPGs (of any nationality) and MMORPGs are his daily bread, but he enjoys almost every other genre, prominently racing simulators, action and sandbox games. He is also one of the few surviving fans of the flight simulator genre on Earth.
