PlayStation Network Getting Back on its Feet Again After Extended Outage

on December 28, 2014 1:31 AM

Sony Computer Entertainment just announced that the PSN is finally getting back online after a second extended outage and a brief period online following Christmas’ blackout.

UPDATE: PlayStation Network is back online. As you know, PlayStation Network and some other gaming services were attacked over the holidays with artificially high levels of traffic designed to disrupt connectivity and online gameplay. This may have prevented your access to the network and its services over the last few days.

Thanks again for your support and patience. We’ll provide any further updates here.

Users over social media are reporting successful connections, but many are still struggling, probably indicating that the network is going back up gradually, as services restart across the world.

Hopefully this will be the end of the problems, as Sony claimed that the network was going back up yesterday as well, only to collapse again under the weight of the incoming traffic.
