Engadget has reported on what appears to be a Playstation Phone. No official announcement from Sony has been made, but this thing looks very much to be just that!

Very likely to be running Android 3.0, the phone will reportedly feature a custom Sony Marketplace designed to purchase and download games designed for the new system! Interestingly there is no slot for a Memory Stick, but it does have Micro SD support.

The device snapped up top (and in our gallery below) is sporting a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8655 (a chip similar to the one found in the G2, but 200MHz faster), 512MB of RAM, 1GB of ROM, and the screen is in the range of 3.7 to 4.1 inches.

Very interesting news indeed, it'll be interesting to see how this develops and where the phone will be available. While the phone has not been officially confirmed or announced by Sony, it is a live Prototype. I'm sure we can expect an official statement before too long.
