PlayStation Plus subscribers are guaranteed at least one major release on PS5 in March 2022, with more big updates expected very soon.

Anyone wanting to find out what games will be available to download next month have been given some big news.

Next month will see Sony provide a number of PlayStation Plus titles, including a potential bonus PS5 game.

Breaking the usual pattern, Sony and Rockstar Games have announced that GTA Online is set to become a free game for a limited time.

But the big twist here is that this won’t happen until March 15, almost two weeks after the normal release date for PS Plus games.

GTA Online Heading to PS5

This could mean that GTA Online will be a bonus PS5 title that can be added to libraries, alongside others. It should also be noted that the popular multiplayer title will be available to download for up to three months, rather than the usual four weeks.

Whatever does happen, it looks like next-gen gamers will have at least three games to download on March 1. This standalone version of GTA Online has been made especially for next-gen consoles and comes with a number of upgrades. This version of Grand Theft Auto comes with a number of technical upgrades, as well as other tweaks to the overall gameplay.

GTA Online for PS5 and Xbox Series makes it possible to skip the GTAV Story Mode prologue before entering Online, and adds an all-new GTA Online Tutorial. New GTA Online players will enter the Career Builder, with instant access to their choice of one of four businesses. This starter pack will be available to everyone who picks up GTA Online as part of PS Plus in March, with Rockstar Games revealing this month:

GTA Online is coming to PlayStation Plus

“Returning players will also have the option to restart their character and take advantage of the Career Builder at any time. The PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of GTA Online also include the new Hao’s Special Works auto shop, located within the LS Car Meet, which will allow players to upgrade select vehicles (5 new vehicles and 5 existing vehicles at launch) for elite driving performance that takes full advantage of the upgraded power of new console hardware."

The rest of the PS Plus lineup for March remains a mystery, meaning gamers will have to wait a few more weeks before we find out what it includes. It should also be noted that March has traditionally been one of the better months for PlayStation Plus in the past, with titles like Bloodborne, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Farpoint, and Modern Warfare Remastered being featured. So hopes are high that we will see something special put together for the PlayStation Plus March free games this year.
