With the PS5 looming on the horizon in a little over a month, it's probably not too surprising that a lot of PlayStation console owners will likely have their attention turned towards Sony's transition to next-gen. However, Sony is still giving PS4 owners the opportunity to grab free games as part of PlayStation Plus, and with the end of the month today, we now know the next two titles to expect for October.

Over on the PlayStation Blog, Sony has officially revealed the next two titles coming to the PlayStation Plus library of free games for subscribers in October. Right on time for Halloween, Dontnod Entertainment's Vampyr is the first title coming to PS4 owners, while Need for Speed: Payback is the second title for those that want a bit more of an adrenaline-focused experience. Both titles will be available for free to PlayStation Plus members starting on October 6, 2020, and will be available until November 2, 2020.

Last month saw Street Fighter V and PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds as part of the PS Plus collection for September, meaning that this week will be your last opportunity to pick up the titles before they exit the PS Plus rotation on October 5. If you haven't done so already, make sure to head into the PlayStation Store to grab them before the October rotation of games kicks in.

Alongside the continued new PS4 games being added each month to PS Plus, Sony also announced earlier this month that PS5 owners will be able to access the PlayStation Plus Collection with the system's launch in November. Essentially, the collection will act as a "Greatest Hits" collection of generation-defining PS4 games that will be free with a PS Plus subscription, such as God of War, Persona 5, Bloodborne, and more.
