PlayStation's State of Play Returns this Week with News on MediEvil
MediEvil, an all-new game, and no news on the PS5 is what you can expect from State of Play on Thursday.
After the first episode of PlayStation’s new video series, State of Play, debuted earlier this year in March, the second episode is slated to drop later this week.
Sony announced this morning that the latest edition of State of Play is set to arrive this Thursday, May 9, and will take place at 6:00pm EST/3:00pm PST. The show will be a pretty quick one and is said to last only ten minutes.
As for what we’ll be seeing during this edition of State of Play, not a lot has been divulged. The only game in question that Sony directly mentioned will be shown is that of the PS4 remake of MediEvil. We haven’t heard any more about Sir Daniel’s return since late 2018 when the game’s first gameplay trailer was shown.
In addition, Sony said that one entirely new game will be revealed during the showcase. We don’t really have any hints as to what this game could be, but it is an exciting prospect. Furthermore, Sony also confirmed that it won’t be talking at all about its next-generation hardware (PS5) during this State of Play, so don’t expect to hear anything in that realm.
The only other thing I’m holding out hope for in this State of Play episode is a new trailer for Kojima Productions’ Death Stranding. If you’ve been paying attention over the past couple weeks, the game’s director Hideo Kojima has hinted that we might see more of the title over this next month. He’s also shown in images recently that he is clearly working on a new video of sorts involved with the game. While Death Stranding is by no means confirmed to appear here at State of Play, I’m really crossing my fingers and hoping it appears.
So what are you hoping will be shown in this week’s edition of State of Play? Be sure to let me know down in the comments.
