After today's PSN maintenance, which incidentally ended early, the PlayStation Store got an interesting addition: a field for "10-digit discount code" has been added to the cart on the web and mobile storefronts.

This feature is normally present in most online stores, with codes distributed as part of promotions, as purchase incentives or simply as bonuses to previous orders, but it wasn't supported by the PlayStation Store before.

At the moment we don't know how extensively the feature will be used or when the codes will start appearing in the wild, but considering that we're approaching the Holiday Season, it's definitely promising.
