Sony revealed today that the PlayStation Store will be getting an update that changes its look and adds new functions on the shop.

The new interface will highlight new content that has sections for games, movies, and TV content. Instead of blue everywhere like most of us are used to, the new interface will show off game characters.

Search functionality will now provide a list of options as each letter is typed and will search by mis-spellings and abbreviations as well. Users will also be able to filter content by type, price, and supported peripherals. When searching by games users will be shown related screens, links to   a demo, and recommendations for related titles.

The redesign is expected to launch in PAL regions on October 17th and the US on October 23rd. PS Store users will want to check out screens of the upcoming update below.
