Originally released in October 2016, PlayStation VR finally brought PS4 owners into the world of VR with a huge variety of games and experiences, and now Sony has highlighted a significant sales milestone for the VR platform since its launch.
Over on the PlayStation Blog, Sony has detailed that PlayStation VR has sold over three million units worldwide since the VR device released in fall 2016, and software-wise over 21.9 million PS VR games and other VR experiences have also been sold alongside the platform.
In addition to the platform's overall hardware and software sales, Sony also detailed the top ten most-played titles for PlayStation VR owners, with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR being the top title among the crowd. Overall though, there is a nice spread of genres and types of games among the top ten, which you can find in full below:

- Resident Evil 7 biohazard
- The Playroom VR
- Job Simulator
- Until Dawn: Rush of Blood

To celebrate the sales milestone for the VR hardware, Sony is offering a sale on PlayStation VR titles on the PlayStation Store from now through August 28th, 2018, allowing PS VR owners the chance to grab a number of the platform's best titles at discounted prices.
