Today, PlayStation announced via Twitter that Impulse Gear's upcoming PlayStation VR exclsuive first-person shooter Farpoint will be launching on May 16. Farpoint was originally revealed last year during Sony's E3 2016 presentation. It was available to be played later in the year to those who attended PlayStation Experience. If you're unfamiliar with the game yourself, a quick overview for it is as follows:

Farpoint is an unnerving VR space adventure set on a hostile alien planet. On a mission to pick up scientists studying an anomaly near Jupiter, a rupture from the anomaly transports the player and scientists to an unknown alien world.

Also launching alongside Farpoint on May 16 is the new PlayStation VR Aim Controller. This device essentially allows you to place one of your PlayStation Move controllers in a gun-like grip. The Aim Controller allows you to play FPS games in VR with much more ease and also allows you to become more immersed in the experience.

Currently, Farpoint is one of the only games that has been announced to support the Aim Controller. You will be able to buy both Farpoint and the Aim Controller in a bundle that is currently retailing for $79.99.

Farpoint is one of the more notable titles that is currently announced for PlayStation VR so it's nice to finally know when we will be able to explore the deep reaches of space for ourselves.
