According to prominent game journalist

" rel="nofollow">Imran Khan, Warner Bros.' game division could be open for acquisition. He adds that there are a number of parties that are interested in the same, including the likes of EA, Take-Two, Microsoft, Sony, Tencent, Netease, and PUBG Corp. Considering that pretty much nobody saw it coming, this could be again a surprising acquisition if either Sony or Microsoft are able to acquire it.

PlayStation's Next Acquisition Could Be Warner Bros, Not From Software: Report

Rumors have been going around about a From Software acquisition, but it seems like it was just pure speculation. However, this one seems to have much more credibility behind it. Out of the two gaming giants, Sony seems to be more likely to acquire Warner Bros., considering the fact that it has repeatedly emphasized that it is looking forward to more acquisitions in the coming days. When it comes to Microsoft, the Activision deal itself seems to be going through some issues, as it has been reported that there is a high chance the deal will not go through due to external factors. For the record, Microsoft's offer is a whopping 25% premium over the current price of Activision stock.

The report has also stated that Warner Bros. will be selling its licensed IPs as well, so it could turn out to be quite a significant deal. Some notable names which Warner Bros. owns the IP include the Batman games, Injustice, Harry Potter, and Shadow of Mordor. That being said, with an acquisition spree going on in the industry, don't be too surprised if Tencent or Take-Two end up stealing the show out of nowhere in the end.
