Playtonic Launches its Yooka-Laylee Kickstarter; Smashes its Goal in 40 Minutes

As we reported yesterday, Playtonic launched its Yooka-Laylee Kickstarter this morning. The response was massive.

The game smashed through its $270,000 goal in only 40 minutes, and now sits after less than a day with over $1.3 million raised and counting.

The game has most certainly been funded, and with over a month and a half left to go, its reasonable to assume it will surpass its final (for now) stretch goal at $1.5 million of a simultaneous release on PC, Mac, Linux, PS4, Xbox One, and Wii U.

There’s tons of detail on reward tiers and stretch goals on the Kickstarter page, but the most important detail is, $15 gets you a Steam copy at launch, $23 gets you a digital console copy

If all the stretch goals are surpassed it’s likely we’ll see more goals added as there will be a lot of time left before the Kickstarter’s end date on June 16th.

Yooka-Laylee is currently slated for a very tenuous October 2016 release window.
