Pokémon Black & White Version to Not Be Your Typical Adventure?

By François Chang

August 4, 2010

According to a recent blog by Pokémon developer Junichi Masuda, Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version will feel fresh. As fresh as the first generation of Pokémon titles. If that last statement is true, then that is a pretty big deal. A fresh adventure is just what the series needs after years of playing games that have all felt painfully similar. One of the key differences between these versions and previous versions is the decision to no longer include older Pokémon. Masuda states:

“Right up to the ending, it’s all new Pokémon.”

The reason behind this was to have older players not have a leg up on the younger players. Everyone will start the game fresh. We look forward to bringing you more as we learn more about the new direction the series is taking.
