Pokemon Creators Reflect on Red/Blue and 20 Years of Pokemon in New Interview Videos

With 2016 marking the 20th anniversary of the Pokemon series, Nintendo and The Pokemon Company are making it a big year with their “#Pokemon20” celebrations all year round, and in particular a new video series has shared some insights on the series creation from some of its original creators, Junichi Masuda and Tsunekazu Ishihara.

As part of the Pokemon 20 celebrations, two new videos were released featuring interviews with Masuda (Director at GAME FREAK Inc.) and Ishihara (President/CEO of The Pokemon Company), who reflect on the creation of the series’ first two titles (Pokemon Red & Blue) and even mentioning from Masuda that it took quite a few broken computers to get to the creation of the original games.

The Pokemon 20 celebrations will continue with more surprises in store throughout the year, including this month’s release of Pokemon Red, Blue, & Yellow on the 3DS eShop – in the meantime, you can check out both interviews with Junichi Masuda and Tsunekazu Ishihara below:
