Last year, Ryan Reynolds revealed a first look at his performance as the titular character in the upcoming film Pokemon Detective Pikachu via an official trailer. The trailer released to a wide array of mixed responses from fans of the franchise, with some expressing excitement for the film's release, and others criticizing the design of some Pokémon.

Since then, many have longed to know more about the movie, asking repeatedly to see another trailer with a more in-depth look at the plot. Well, ask and you shall receive, according to Ryan Reynolds himself. Today, the actor updated his Instagram story with a tease for something Detective Pikachu related heading our way. The tease, which included a screenshot of Pikachu from the first trailer looking up at the camera, says the following: "Keep your sleuthin' eyes open [...] during the NFC Championship Game ads #SneakaPika".

Obviously, we can't say for certain whether or not Reynolds is actually teasing an incoming trailer, but we're definitely getting some sort of footage during the NFC Championship Game ad break. The NFL game, which sets the New Orleans Saints against the Los Angeles Rams, is scheduled to begin at 3:05 pm ET // 2:05 pm CT // 8:05 pm GMT on Sunday, January 20, 2019 - which is today as of writing.

The film is highly anticipated and is expected to be a success at the box office when it finally releases early this year - with a cast that headlines Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool, The Proposal) as Detective Pikachu, Justice Smith (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom) as Tim Goodman, alongside Kathryn Newton (Paranormal Activity 4), Ken Watanabe (Inception, Batman Begins, Godzilla), and more.

We analyzed the original trailer for Detective Pikachu and made a breakdown of each and every Pokemon that made an appearance (if you want to see what your favorite Pokemon looks like as a realistic CGI character). POKEMON Detective Pikachu releases on May 10, 2019 across theaters worldwide.
