Pokemon GO April 2021 Upcoming Events – Community Day, Raid Bosses and What Else?

Here's what we know and what we can guess will be coming to POGO in April.

March has almost certainly been one of the most stacked months since Pokemon GO launched five years ago.

The Season of Legends kicked off, and with it, a whole bunch of new events and more.

We had the Searching for Legends, Charge Up and Weather Week events to name a few and that’s not even including all the raid boss shake-ups and more. The sheer abundance of activities has left fans wondering what events are coming to Pokemon GO in April 2021.

Here is everything we know so far.

  • WEATHER WEEK – Water/Flying Event – Start Time, Research, Rewards and Bonuses

April 2021 Community Day and Research Breakthrough

As usual, April 2021 will host another Pokemon GO Community Day. The popular event (when it’s safe to do so) sees players come together to hunt a single, boosted species of Pokemon. This time out, and announced yesterday, is none other than Snivy.

Kicking off on Sunday, April 11, 2021, from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm local time, players will be presented with the opportunity to capture a shiny Snivy. During the event, if Snivy is evolved into Servine then Servine into Serperior, Serperior will learn the attack Frenzy Plant.

Players will also earn 3× Catch Stardust during the event.

As well as Snivy community day, Niantic has confirmed Male Frillish will be the Pokemon appearing as part of April’s Research Encounters.

Raid Boss Changes

If March is anything to go by, we should have a range of Raid Boss changes to get excited about in April. The five-star raid schedule is as follows.

  • Therian Forme Tornadus will be in five-star raids on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. local time until Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. local time.
  • Therian Forme Landorus will be in five-star raids on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. local time until Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. local time.
  • Incarnate Forme Tornadus, Incarnate Forme Thundurus, and Incarnate Forme Landorus will be appearing in five-star raids starting on Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. local time.

Niantic has also confirmed the following Mega Pokemon will be in raids

  • Mega Venusaur and Mega Abomasnow will appear in Mega Raids beginning on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. local time.

Other April Pokemon GO Events

April 2020 was a strange one for Pokemon GO. It was just as the pandemic was really starting to take a grip on the world and therefore, any events Niantic had planned, never happened. This means there’s not a lot to go off to make predictions, however, you have to imagine the likes of Pancham and Sylveon will be making an appearance.

Niantic has, however, confirmed the following spotlight hours:

  • Tuesday, April 6, 2021: Buneary
  • Tuesday, April 13, 2021: Mankey
  • Tuesday, April 20, 2021: Grimer
  • Tuesday, April 27, 2021: Finneon

Alongside these, it’s been confirmed there will be a range of new events. They are as follows:

  • Tricky Pokémon event – Mischievous Pokemon are more likely to appear in the wild.
  • Team GO Rocket Timed Research- Players will have the chance to fight Team GO Rocket and earn a Super Rocket Radar.
  • Spring Into Spring – Spring themed Pokemon will be appearing, including Happiny, Chansey and Blissey all wearing flower crowns. There will also be other “egg-themed surprises!”
  • Sustainability Week –  Pokemon such as Grimer, Trubbish and more will be appearing to promote sustainable living.
  • Friendship Day – This is a one-day event celebrating friendship. Little else has been shared.
  • “Snappy Event” – Finally, Niantic has confirmed that the month will end with a “Snappy Event”, more details of which will be shared soon.
