According to ShackNews, Apple has confirmed Pokémon GO to have set a new record on their App Store, with more confirmed downloads in the game's first week than any other app. However Apple hasn't disclosed which app was the previous record holder, or how many downloads Pokémon GO actually achieved in its first week.

There have been several stories confirming the success of the game, from it's 21 million active daily users to Nintendo's shares skyrocketing and breaking the Tokyo Stock Market record. While we don't have a confirmed number of initial downloads from Apple, the game's total downloads have been tracked by Sensor Tower, using their store intelligence program. The total downloads as of July 20 should be approximately 30 million.

Pokémon GO has also, according to Sensor Tower, achieved 10 million downloads in the first week, beating out the likes of popular mobile games such as Clash Royale, Angry Birds 2 and Fallout Shelter.  Pokémon GO is available now in almost all regions.
