Some of the rarest pokémon have yet to make an appearance in the mobile title, Pokémon GO. According to CEO of Niantic John Hanke, that's going to be changing soon.

In an interview with Wired's German edition, Hanke mentioned that more news regarding the most legendary of the first generation can be expected before the end of 2017.

"I can say with certainty that we will see it more this year," Hanke said specifically when asked about Mew, Mewtwo, Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres.

Amongst a few other additions noted to be in the works, legendary pokémon have been awaited by fans ever since the mobile game's July 2016 release. Still, it seems that Niantic is dedicated to first perfecting the game's trading aspect, which might prove to be more difficult than fans expect.
