Pokemon GO is nearing its first anniversary this summer and while the game has kept players outside and catching Pokemon for almost a full year, this summer is (potentially) going to be a big one as players may finally be able to catch some of the hardest-to-find creatures yet.

During this year's Webby Awards 2017, developer Niantic (during its acceptance of the award for Best Mobile Game at this year's ceremony, alongside other awards) dropped a small hint in the acceptance speech of Niantic's global product marketing lead Archit Bhargava, who explained that "This summer will be legendary" for players of the game.

While Bhargava's statement is pretty broad, surely the speech served as a hint of what's to come for players this summer for Pokemon GO, which may imply that Legendary Pokemon will make their way into the game following the series of events that Niantic has hosted recently in the lead-up to (what seems to be) surprises in store this summer.

Pokemon GO is available now on iOS and Android.
