[UPDATE] March's remaining events have been added to the bottom of the post.Recently, Niantic held one of its biggest events of the year - Pokemon GO Tour: Kanto. The ticketed event allowed players to encounter and capture every Pokemon from the first two games, plus their shiny forms. This includes Shiny Ditto and Shiny Mew. With the event coming to a close, however, it's time to start looking forward to next month. Let's see what Pokemon Go has in store for us for the rest of march March.

Pokemon GO March Community Day

The first confirmed event of this month was the March Community Day. The event will feature the Tiny Robin Pokemon, Fletchling. Players had a higher chance of encountering the shiny form of the Pokemon, got 3x catch XP and Incense lasted for three hours.

Any Fletchinder that was evolved during the event period became a Talonflame that learnt Incinerate.

New Season

March 1 also saw the beginning of a new Pokemon GO Season. December 1 - March 1 was the Season of Celebration within the game and saw a range of events and new Pokemon released as part of it. As the real-world seasons start to change, so do the in-game one and March will usher in the second season released within the game.

It seems Niantic is steering away from traditional seasons (Summer, Autumn, Winter and Spring) and is instead opting for their own spin on things (Season of Celebration). With that, we move into the Season of Legends - which sees the release of the Therian Formes of Landorus, Thundurus and Tornadus. Further details on the new season can be found right here.

Other Pokemon GO March Events (19th March onwards)

Niantic still has a few tricks up their sleeves in March, here is what we have left:

First up, kicking off on March 24 is Weather Week. This will introduce Shiny Rainy Castform to the game for the first time, add a load of Pokemon to the wild that love the wind and rain, change the raid pool (One-star raids: Slowpoke, Tynamo, and more, Three-star raids: Swellow, Pelipper, and more) and add a bunch of research. This will also be the swansong for Therian Forme Thundurus who, at the end of the event, will be replaced by Therian Forme Tornadus.

From March 28, trainers in India will get to take part in the Festival of Colors event. This will add a load of colourful Pokemon into the wild, as well as offering a some Timed Research tasks and a special Wayfarer event.

Finally, Niantic confirms there will be "A Special Raid Weekend event featuring Legendary Pokémon will take place on Saturday, March 27, 2021, through Sunday, March 28, 2021."
