Pokemon GO just wrapped up its Winter Holiday and New Year's events and is now moving right into the new Mountains of Power event that comes with its own Timed Research for players to complete.

The Mountains of Power event revolves around Professor Willow discovering that the key to unlocking the second lock in the mysterious door is related to Rock and Steel type Pokemon.

As a result, the Mountains of Power event features those two types, as well as others you'd find in the mountains. In addition, the event will include 1/2 walking distance to earn hearts with your buddy, which will help with the new Timed Research as well.
