Pokemon GO Solstice Event - Start Time, Research, Rewards and Spawns
We’re fast approaching the Solstice all around the world. This represents the longest/shortest days of the year and a turning point in summer/winter – so, of course, Niantic is going to celebrate this with a special Solstice event.
This new event comes hot on the heels of A Very Slow Discovery, which finished just last week and saw a range of slow Pokemon invading the game.
So, with that in mind, here are all the details that you need to know about the Pokemon GO Solstice event.
Pokemon GO Solstice Event Start Date and Time
This new event is just around the corner, kicking off on Thursday, June 17. Players will be able to take part from 10 am in their local time zones.
What’s Happening in the Solstice Event?
Niantic has put on a range of activities for players to take part in during this latest event.
There will be a range of different spawns and raid bosses appearing in each hemisphere, they are as follows:
- Chimchar (Wild)
- Summer Deerling (Wild)
- Yanma (Wild/Raids)
- Alolan Marowak (Raids)
- Petilil (Raids)
- Snorunt (Wild/Raids)

- Piloswine (Raids)
- Lunatone (Wild/Raids)
- Snorlax (Wild)
- Solrock (Wild/Raids)
- Spheal (Wild)
- Klink (Raids)
This isn’t the complete list but the ones Niantic has mentioned so far. Be sure to check out this article when the event goes live for the full list of raid bosses.
Alongside these Pokemon, Niantic confirmed that Regigigas would be appearing in raids, with its shiny form available for capture.
Research, Challenges and Rewards
It doesn’t look like there’s going to be a great deal of research for players to get stuck into during this event.
Niantic has, however, confirmed there will be “event-exclusive Field Research tasks.” Some of these tasks will be focused on Raids, while some will reward encounters with Snorunt or Yanma.
Other bonuses for the event include half walking distance for buddy hearts and extra gifts from your buddy.
