Pokémon GO is still going strong with its events. The last one was for the winter holidays in December, bringing a holiday theme to the game, as well as a Santa Hat Pikachu. This month, we're getting two special events, including a new opportunity to catch a legendary Pokémon.

Now until February 14, the Legendary Water-type Pokémon Kyogre will appear in Raid Battles around the world. He might appear in gyms nearby, giving players the opportunity to catch him. You'll be able to do so until 1 PM PST on the closing day.

The second event happening in January comes with an exciting announcement. It's called Pokémon GO Community Day. The official website gives a full description of what it means.

"Pokémon GO Community Day is an opportunity for Trainers around the world to meet up at their local parks to make new friends and experience what it means to be a part of this special community.

Once a month, we’ll host a Pokémon GO Community Day event starring a special Pokémon, which will appear frequently around the world for just a few hours. When caught during the event, this special Pokémon will know an exclusive move. Other bonuses will be in effect during the event, such as increased XP or Stardust, and Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours."

The Pokémon GO Community Day event will actually happen every month, but it makes its debut on January 20. Details for each will be posted on various official Pokémon GO social media channels, as well as the Community Day event page.

The first Community Day will feature a special Pikachu that knows the event-exclusive move Surf. The event will happen at local parks and will also have a double XP modifier as long as it lasts.
