Pokemon Home's highly anticipated 2.0 update arrives later today, but will sadly come with an extended period of server maintenance.

Update 2.0 comes to the Nintendo Switch and mobile devices on May 18 and will finally allow players to link Pokemon HOME to Pokemon Legends: Arceus, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond, Pokemon Shining Pearl, Pokemon Sword, Pokemon Shield, Pokemon: Let's Go Pickachu!, Pokemon Le's Go Evee!, and Pokemon GO.

It has also been confirmed that the ability to transfer Pokemon between games will also be present following update 2.0. According to the official Pokemon website, "Pokémon Legends: ArceusPokémon Brilliant DiamondPokémon Shining PearlPokémon Sword, and Pokémon Shield will be mutually compatible with Pokémon HOME, and you will be able to deposit and withdraw Pokémon to and from each of these games".

This means players will be able to take any caught Pokemon in Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield into Pokémon Legends: ArceusPokémon Brilliant Diamond, or Pokémon Shining Pearl.

Pokemon Home Server Maintenance Schedule (May 18)

As revealed by the official Pokemon Twitter account, Pokemon HOME will be unavailable for an extended period of time whilst server maintenance is carried out.

According to serebii.net, maintenance will last for a total of 6 hours, beginning at the following time:

  • 5PM PT (May 17th)
  • 8PM ET (May 17th)
  • 12AM UTC (May 18th)
  • 1AM BST (May 18th)

During the 6 hour maintenance, Pokemon HOME will not be accessible. Serebii also reports that there will be staggered logins until 1AM UTC on May 19th, in order to ease the server load following the release of update 2.0.
