It's difficult to think of the first generation of Pokémon without also recollecting the theme tune from the animated series. The song sported a catchy chorus and inspirational lyrics that almost felt like they would fit in with a sports movie's training montage. For those with fond memories of the original anime; the launch trailer for Pokémon Let's Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let's Go, Eevee! has an absolute treat in store for you.

As the drums roll into a new rendition of the iconic theme tune we're first greeted by a shot of in-game footage of Kanto's legendary pokémon Mewtwo. As the camera spins around we see his opponent is Mew before it settles on a player character wearing a baseball cap. Sharp-eyed trainers will recognize these as being suspiciously similar to the opening shots of the anime's intro.

From here the trailer plays out as an excellent homage to the animated show. Featuring new shots of each classic pokémon taken from within the game itself, the entire video coincides with the intro down to a point of even having a pokéball bounce off of a Bulbasaur and having Haunter use the move "Lick" on Charmander.

Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let's Go, Eevee! is a retelling of the original game's adventures in Kanto. Both titles are available now on exclusively on Nintendo Switch, but they also integrate the mobile app Pokémon Go into their gameplay. Whether you choice Pikachu or Eevee, they can each be bought on Amazon now.
