Although the New Nintendo 3DS doesn't come out in Japan until next month, special variants of the console are already being revealed.

Japan's Pokemon Center stores will start accepting pre-orders for the Groudon Edition and Kyogre Edition New Nintendo 3DS systems, releasing to commemorate the launch of Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire, from September 20th. They'll cost 19,000 yen (roughly $177) each and early purchasers will get a downloadable theme to customize the  system's home screen.

The designs really are interesting. The special edition consoles will launch in Japan on November 21st, but Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire will also launch on that day, in North America and Europe, as well as Japan.
