Last month, in the midst of a rapid-fire barrage of Pokémon announcements, gamers were introduced to a cubic, free-to-play game entitled Pokémon Quest. The game was playable on the Nintendo Switch as soon as it was revealed, along with the news that it would eventually make its way to iOS and Android devices. Following up with this initial announcement, The Pokémon Company announced today that Pokémon Quest will be headed to iOS and Android on June 27th, one week from today.

In addition to setting a release date for mobile devices, The Pokémon Company also revealed that Pokémon Quest has already been downloaded two and a half million times since its sudden launch last month. While these certainly aren't Pokémon GO numbers, they're impressive in their own right, especially considering the surprise announcement of the game's existence and it's subsequent surprise release.

After writing up my initial reactions to Pokémon Quest for DualShockers last month, I'm excited to finally have the opportunity to experience the game on my phone. While I found Pokémon Quest to be enjoyable for what it was, I couldn't help but feel like it was an experience that would be better suited for a device that could fit into your pocket.

As previously stated, Pokémon Quest comes to iOS and Android on June 27th. You can download the game for free on your Nintendo Switch right now.
