The Pokemon Company announced a surprisingly sweeping ban targeting hackers in Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon's online community. Noted by Pokemon fansite Serebii.net, the Japanese company has booted exactly 7,651 people for having "altered save data."

If you are lopped into this ban, you will get the 090-0212 error code when trying to log into Game Sync, Rating Battles, Battle Competitions and Global Missions.

What is the issue with modified save data? Simply it lets a few gamers get a leg up with modified Pokemon with near-perfect stats.

This isn't the first ban Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon has seen -- only in January nearly 6,000 others got pushed out the door for similar reasons.

DualShockers gave Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon a 9.0, noting it's "relaxing adventure away from a tried-and-true formula that is as rewarding as ever." The game is exclusively available for Nintendo 3DS.
