For fans awaiting the latest entry in the Pokemon franchise, Pokemon Sword and Shield, Serebii delivers on that front with an intriguing piece of news that, funny enough, announced the reveal of some upcoming news for the game.

It has been confirmed that the July 21st episode of the Japanese Variety Show, Pokénchi, will contain "the latest information" on Pokemon Sword and Shield. Right now, it is not clear if this will be brand new information or if it will be a repeat of recently revealed information. Of course we'll be sure to cover any brand new information that emerges from the show.

Other recent news includes a trailer that reveals Gigantamaxing, showcases more of the regional Pokemon, and introduces some fresh faces -- version exclusive Gym Leaders Bea and Allister as well as Chairman Rose and his secretary and Vice-President Oleana.

And just yesterday an updated piece from Japanese magazine Famitsu featured an interview with Game Freak developers Junichi Masuda and Shigeru Ohmori. The two address Pokemon Sword and Shield‘s recent National Dex controversy and why some of the iconic monsters had to be cut from the upcoming entry in the franchise.

Pokemon Sword and Shield will be released for Nintendo Switch on November 15th. Meanwhile check out a write-up from one of our DualShockers own, in which he claims this will be the Pokemon title to reignite his passion for the series, which totes that “…we may have another classic generation on our hands.” You can preorder Sword here and Shield here.
