July 20, 2021

Pokemon Unite, The Pokemon Company’s answer to League of Legends, is just around the corner.

Given a release window of “July” on the Nintendo Switch, players are eagerly anticipating the free-to-play title.

Ahead of release, many are looking to get ahead of the competition, and are already building their hypothetical teams.

So, to help with that, we’ve gathered all of the Pokemon available in Unite at launch and have included their stats and roles they’ll play in the game.

Attackers

Below, you will find all of the designated attackers in Pokemon Unite. An attacker is classified as a Pokemon that has “low Endurance and excel at dealing heavy ranged damage to opponents.”

Pikachu

Pikachu is the first Pokemon classed as an attacker. As you’d expect, it attacks with electricity and can occasionally paralyse opponents.

  • Offence – 4.5/5
  • Endurance – 1.5/5
  • Mobility – 2.5/5
  • Scoring – 2/5
  • Support – 1.5/5

Alolan Ninetails

Alolan Ninetails is well balanced as an attacker. It uses its Ice-type moves to freeze the opposition.

  • Offence – 4/5
  • Endurance – 1.5/5
  • Mobility – 1.5/5
  • Scoring – 2.5/5
  • Support – 3/5

Greninja

Greninja is likely to be a little more difficult to use than Pikachu. It uses many of its abilities, including smokescreens to give it the upper hand.

  • Offence – 4/5
  • Endurance – 2/5
  • Mobility – 3/5
  • Scoring – 3/5
  • Support – 0.5/5

Cramorant

Cramorant’s inclusion raised a few eyebrows and its difficulty level is unlikely to make it very popular.

  • Offence – 4/5
  • Endurance – 3/5
  • Mobility – 3/5
  • Scoring – 1.5/5
  • Support – 1/5

Cinderace

Cinderace is one of the fastest attackers, coming off the back of its recent release in Sword and Shield.

  • Offence – 4/5
  • Endurance – 1.5/5
  • Mobility – 3/5
  • Scoring – 2.5/5
  • Support – 0.5/5

Venusaur

Sitting somewhere between the difficulty of Pikachu and Greninja is Venusaur. While pretty slow, the Grass-type Pokemon hits very hard.

  • Offence – 4.5/5
  • Endurance – 2/5
  • Mobility – 2/5
  • Scoring – 2.5/5
  • Support – 1/5

Speedsters

Speedsters are defined as “Pokémon that have high Mobility and Offense and excel at making quick attacks and scoring points.” It’s going to be vital to get one of these characters in your Pokemon Unite teams!

Gengar

Gengar is one of the most popular Pokemon in the series’ history. In Unite, the purple ghost will be hiding in the shadows and is a “master of surprise attacks.”

  • Offence – 3.5/5
  • Endurance – 2/5
  • Mobility – 4/5
  • Scoring – 3/5
  • Support – 0.5/5

Absol

Absol is a very nippy Dark-type Pokemon. Like all speedsters, Absol is likely to be a popular pick.

  • Offence – 3.5/5
  • Endurance – 2/5
  • Mobility – 4/5
  • Scoring – 2.5/5
  • Support – 0.5/5

Talonflame

Talonflame is exceptionally quick, easy to use and hits hard. Surprisingly, it’s likely to be one of the most picked Pokemon unless it’s nerfed before release.

  • Offence – 2.5/5
  • Endurance – 1.5/5
  • Mobility – 5/5
  • Scoring – 3.5/5
  • Support – 0.5/5

Zeraora (DLC Character)

Zeraora is available for anybody who downloads and logs into Pokemon Unite before August 31. It fills the speedster role incredibly well, being a lightning-quick Pokemon.

  • Offence – 3.5/5
  • Endurance – 1.5/5
  • Mobility – 4/5
  • Scoring – 3/5
  • Support – 0.5/5

All-Rounders

All-rounders are exactly what you’d expect – they’re highly balanced across both defence and offence. The official Pokemon Unite website defines all characters in this category as “highly tenacious fighters.”

Charizard

Like Gengar in the speedsters category, Charizard is one of the most popular Pokemon ever. In Unite it’s well-balanced and easy to use, expect to see it a lot.

  • Offence – 3.5/5
  • Endurance – 3/5
  • Mobility – 2.5/5
  • Scoring – 3/5
  • Support – 0.5/5

Machamp

Machamp is an instantly recognisable Fighting-type Pokemon. He specialises in melee combat in Pokemon Unite.

  • Offence – 4/5
  • Endurance – 2.5/5
  • Mobility – 2.5/5
  • Scoring – 2.5/5
  • Support – 0.5/5

Garchomp

The All-Rounder category certainly has all of the coolest characters in Pokemon Unite. Garchomp is next up and the Ground/Dragon-type Pokemon is a monster.

  • Offence – 3.5/5
  • Endurance – 3.5/5
  • Mobility – 2.5/5
  • Scoring – 2.5/5
  • Support – 0.5/5

Lucario

Lucario is the final Pokemon in the All-Rounder category and arguably has the most balanced stats of all.

  • Offence – 3/5
  • Endurance – 2.5/5
  • Mobility – 3.5/5
  • Scoring – 3/5
  • Support – 0.5/5

Defenders

Pokemon in this category are designed to be a nuisance. They have “high Endurance and excel at protecting allies and hindering opponents.”

Slowbro

Slowbro is, rather unsurprisingly, not the fastest Pokemon. However, it has a solid Endurance stat which means it won’t be easy to take down.

  • Offence – 1.5/5
  • Endurance – 4/5
  • Mobility – 1.5/5
  • Scoring – 1.5/5
  • Support – 4/5

Snorlax

Snorlax is a beast. It has better Endurance and Mobility than Slowbro and, as far as all of the Defenders so far, is likely to be the most popular choice.

  • Offence – 1.5/5
  • Endurance – 5/5
  • Mobility – 2/5
  • Scoring – 1.5/5
  • Support – 2.5/5

Crustle

Crustle has a very basic description on the official site and of all characters in Pokemon Unite, is a more unusual pick.

  • Offence – 1.5/5
  • Endurance – 4/5
  • Mobility – 1.5/5
  • Scoring – 2/5
  • Support – 3/5

Supporters

Arguably one of the most important character roles in all of Pokemon Unite, the Supporters “provide team support by inflicting status conditions on opponents and by healing allies.”

Wigglytuff

The Gen I Fairy-type Pokemon has a large movepool which makes it a really solid supporter.

  • Offence – 1/5
  • Endurance – 2.5/5
  • Mobility – 2.5/5
  • Scoring – 2/5
  • Support – 4.5/5

Another Pokemon from the original games, Mr. Mime can stop opponents in their tracks using its “tricky moves.”

  • Endurance – 4/5
  • Mobility – 1/5
  • Scoring – 1.5/5
  • Support – 4/5

Eldegoss

Eldegoss is described as a “master supporter” and specialises in healing and boosting their allies’ speed.

  • Offence – 1.5/5
  • Endurance – 2/5
  • Mobility – 2.5/5
  • Scoring – 2.5/5
  • Support – 4/5
