Pokemon X & Y’s Lumiose City Revealed as Latest Stage in Super Smash Bros for 3DS

on March 11, 2014 7:28 AM

Just last week it was confirmed that Super Smash Bros for 3DS would be receiving a unique Animal Crossing-based stage for the handheld edition of the title, and now another stage has been revealed based around one of the 3DS’s other best-selling titles from last year.

In a new screenshot revealed by game director Masahiro Sakurai through Nintendo Miiverse, a new stage has been revealed for the 3DS version of the upcoming new Super Smash Bros title, this time based on Pokemon X & Y‘s Lumiose City. Aside from the screenshot, Sakurai also noted that “up until a few seconds ago, the fighters were brawling on top of that tower. No, really,” suggesting that the stage may move and shift shapes as the fight progresses.

Super Smash Bros for Wii U/3DS releases in 2014: in the meantime, you can check out the screenshot above for a look at the Pokemon-inspired Lumiose City stage in the 3DS version.
