Valves hotly anticipated Portal 2 is only a few weeks from unlocking on my Steam account, and just to fan the flames of my anticipation, they've gone ahead and produced a genuinely incredible tie-in comic for the game, called Lab Rat. Part 1 of the comic is currently available over at IGN, with and part two is slated to show up this Monday. Admittedly, I haven't been able to follow the majority of the lore surrounding the Portal series; Valve's affinity for ARG's and bizarrely coded messages makes it somewhat difficult to follow. But Lab Rat is fairly straightforward, following the story of who I can only assume is Dr. Attman, the fellow who left you all those delightful messages on the walls of the first Portal. He was evidently a chief engineer at Aperture who helped create GLaDOS in the first place, so he's definitely a major player in this story.

IGN's interface doesn't make it particularly pleasant to read through, but go check it out anyway. The artwork is spectacular and the storytelling is excellent, so it'll definitely be worth your time if you have any interest in the Portal games at all. And you should.
