OMG Valve does it again. We were just talking about how you had to own a PC in order to play the definitive version of the Elder Scrolls V because of the user-generated content support exclusive to that platform. The PC version of Portal 2 will not be check mating its console counterparts in this manner; well at least not entirely.
You see, while you will still need a PC to create new content, the content can be accessed from both the PS3 and the Xbox 360. So if you’re of the variety who enjoy playing user-created content much more than making it, like myself, you should be perfectly happy with your console version. Not to mention the PS3 version comes coupled with the PC version.
So in addition to the groundbreaking cross-platform play and dual packaging, the user-created content is available from all versions of the game. Valve looks to push technical boundaries further and further with this game. One can only imagine what they’ll announce next. Portal 2 hits the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC in April.
