Dark Souls 2 may yet get DLC post release, producer Takeshi Miyazoe has said.

From the sound of things, dreaded Day One DLC isn't being considered, but rather add ons to the game once it's been released.

There is definitely potential, I think.

Right now we are concentrating on completing what we've got, but I think there are next steps on how we can expand on Dark Souls 2.

Whether or not DLC is added will depend on the reaction of fans, Miyazoe said.

Again, it's all about fan feedback.

So I'm not really ready to say look forward to more information, but I think the potential is definitely there.

This marks a departure from previous statements made by Miyazoe to Edge, which suggested that additional content was off the table for Dark Souls 2.

We did do additional content for Dark Souls, but generally downloadable content for Dark Souls 2 is not really being considered. Buy the package and you'll get the full experience, and you'll have as much fun as anybody else. Spending a couple dollars on certain items does not help the experience. So no free-to-play yet!

Dark Souls 2 is out March 11 on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. While a PC release has been confirmed, it's not yet certain when it'll be out (Thanks Suzaku Kurugi for pointing this out).
